I received my Master of Science degree in Counseling in 2012 from the University of Montana at Great Falls. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Montana.
I am honored by your presence and want you to know that the journey ahead is exhilarating but may be marked with challenges. Change can be difficult for any of us but can be accomplished when we are willing and ready to create change. As a counselor, I take this journey with you, my client. I genuinely support each person by providing unconditional positive regard and accurate empathy.
As an integrated mental health provider, I assist clients to thoroughly examine the way they think, feel (physically and emotionally), and behave. I recognize that every person is unique: from birth to death, we each develop differently and experience life in very diverse ways. It is important that all development (physical, cognitive, emotional, and moral) is considered throughout the counseling journey as it relates to the way we currently perceive ourselves and the world around us. I promote an understanding of integrated health, a basic understanding of mind-body connection, an awareness of personal perspective, and emotional regulation.
I believe that this journey, or this process of change, is greatly dependent upon the client, who is the expert in his or her life. Therefore, I invite questions, feedback, and encourage full engagement. I work proficiently with individuals, couples, and families, and with varying diagnoses, such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and substance abuse. My mission is to provide professional, culturally sensitive, and authentic counseling services that will enable you to enhance your quality of life.
I may suggest that you get involved in additional or adjunctive forms of support, such as meditation, body work, or a support group as part of your work with me. If another health care provider is working with you, I may request a release of information from you so that I can communicate freely with that person about your care.
I am away from the office several times a year for vacation or to attend professional meetings. If I will not be taking and responding to phone messages during those times, I will have someone covering my practice. I will let you know well in advance of any anticipated absences.
